Regional Development Officers appointed

In line with PCB Chairman’s commitment to induct personnel through a transparent process, the posts of Regional Development Officers for the nine Cricketing Regions were advertised in June 2004.
A total of 195 applications were received out of which 53 candidates were short listed for interviews.
A Panel consisting of Mr Zafar Taji, Director Human Resources, Pakistan Tobacco Company, Mr Ali Zia former first-class cricketer and Major (R) Javed Arshad Manj, Manager Services and Human Resources PCB conducted interviews in various regional venues and their recommendations for the selection of following candidates have been approved:
a. Mr Atif Rauf – RDO Lahore
b. Mr Mossadaq Rasool Khan – RDO Faisalabad
c. Mr Abdul Hussain Shah – RDO Hyderabad
d. Mr Farrukh Zaman – RDO Peshawar
e. Lt Col (R) Mansoor Ahmed Khan – RDO Multan
Pakistan Cricket Board has also appointed Col (R) Naushad Ali as Regional Development Manager for Rawalpindi/Islamabad and Mr Nasim-ul-Ghani as Regional Development Manager for Karachi. No suitable RDO was found for Sialkot. The post will be re-advertised.
Meanwhile Mr Javed Zaman Khan a former member of the PCB’s Adhoc Committee has been appointed Advisor on grass root cricket with a view to develop the traditional nurseries of cricket such as Schools, Colleges, Universities and Clubs.
