Burki’s career as captain is said to be marred with controversy and with the politics of grouping that has forever remained a part of Pakistan cricket. Some suggest the grouping to be behind the embarrassing defeats under him even though he was a fine middle-order batsman.
The older Hanif Mohammad, Pakistan’s first wicketkeeper, is said to have been taken aback by the young middle-order batsman’s appointment as captain over him.
